I think user-flagging is an easy solution. But given how long it took them to revamp the stats page, software is not Medium’s core strength. I would love for this to be an AI-free (disclosed or not) platform, but we can’t count on that happening. The biggest problem is the volume of content that AI can generate, and I’ll hold out hope that that sort of fuckery gets stamped out at least. Thanks for calling attention to it RC.
