My 14 year old son recently told me I was a pretty good Dad except for one or two failings. I asked if course and he said, for example, you should let me have TikTok. I laughed. He still doesn’t have TikTok. Our kids are going to be fine if we step up as parents. I see an alarming rise in parental permissiveness. And this would be a problem whether it was drugs or video games or rock and roll or rampant unprotected sex. Every generation has its bugaboos. Parents keep fucking up their children. Social media doesn’t seem fundamentally different except for the lack of government action to help parents be parents. Why on earth kids are allowed to have phones in school is beyond me.
