My parents are verrrry slowly getting over the mental spending barriers they developed in their younger years living in India. They didn’t actually relax until their kids had also done well, on their own (with parental guidance and financial support). They’ve told me that they always want to keep their money in reserve in case I or my sister end up blowing our own retirement plans and need their help. I get the mentality now that I have my own kids. Great post!
