So how do you know when you’ve nailed it for a personal essay? I feel like I hit it about 50% of the time, and I can tell because I get a frisson of emotion when I get to the end. Funny part is that me thinking I’ve nailed it isn’t a great predictor of what will do well on Medium. Just keep writing!
