UBI isn’t quite yet an idea whose time has come, but with falling energy costs and potentially AI and automation to take care of drudgery type jobs, we’ll be there in another 20 years. I hope we evolve socially enough by then to have the will to implement it. It allows an amazing combination of the best aspects of market economies and central planning. I have no doubt it will work, can’t wait to see someone try it at scale.
